Netsuke

Sometimes, I like to open the dictionary to a random page and pick a word I don't know, just to see what it means. Netsuke is the word of the day by this method. Usually, I make out a little better than this, but such is the nature of randomness. A netsuke is a small Japanese toggle, usually decorated with inlays or carvings, used especially to fasten a purse to a kimono sash. There was even a picture:
